Shipbuilding and Stability for the engineer training program has been prepared at the request of the Danish Maritime Authority to replace the textbook Sea Rescue, Shipbuilding and Strength Calculation. The units of the SI system are used to the extent that it is reasonable, while in practical shipping it is common for other units to be used. Where they are used in practice, these are used. The textbook's 1st ed. 2007 has been updated with various rules and regulations, just as some new ship drawings have been inserted. The section on stability criteria has been updated and the IMO's weather criterion has been included below.
