Looking for Better, Safer Ships We live in time of technology and whenever new ships are built they shall contribute to the general technical development Unfortunately, contribution of many new ships to the general technical development is limited just to the use of environmentally friendly fuel. Every new ship shall meet Rules but to create a really significant ship it is necessary to go further: arrangement of ship should enable simple construction, standardization of cabin layout, better operational design, high crew safety and habitability. The author analyses a number of problems that occur on modern ships and proposes solutions that increase ship safety and improve the working and living conditions of the crew.
