Register of ships' lifting appliances and cargo handling gear, NIS Control book for lifting devices and loading and unloading equipment on ships, lnr. 1101 Tests, examinations and inspections specified in this control book are based on the requirements of ILO Convention No. 152 and Recommendation No. 160. They are intended to ensure that lifting devices on ships before they are put into use are certified by an expert person approved by the person concerned authority and that they continue to be in proper working condition. The control book for lifting devices and loose tools must be kept on a form prescribed by the competent authority, taking into account this model recommended by the International Labor Office. This control book and associated certificates must be kept and be available to any person authorized by the competent authority. The control book and the certificates for equipment currently on board the ship must be kept for at least five years after the date of the last importation. The book is bilingual; Norwegian and English VAT is added.
