DS/EN ISO 14001:2015 Environmental management systems - Requirements and guidance This international standard defines requirements for an environmental management system that an organization can use to improve its environmental performance. This international standard is intended to be used by organizations that wish to manage their environmental responsibilities in a systematic way that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability. This international standard helps organizations to achieve the results intended with their environmental management system, which creates value for the environment, the organization itself and the stakeholders. In accordance with the organization's environmental policy, the intended results of an environmental management system include: improving environmental performance. fulfillment of binding obligations. fulfillment of environmental goals. This international standard can be used by any organization, regardless of size, type and nature, and it applies to environmental conditions in connection with the organization's activities, products and services, which the organization can either manage or influence from a life cycle perspective. In this international standard, no specific criteria for the environmental performance are specified. This international standard can be used in its entirety or in extracts to systematically improve environmental management. However, a claim of conformity with this international standard can only be accepted if all the requirements of the standard are incorporated into an organization's environmental management system and are met without exception.
