It was a success and since then Hamnguiden 7 has been published and now there will also be a new edition of Hamnguiden 9 with new
Harbor guide map. All harbor guide maps in the book are produced by Hydrographica and are based on Hydrographica's proven sjömätningsteknik with 3D aerial photography as a basis. Every harbor guide map has also been checked and verified through supplementary sea measurements on site. The harbor guide maps also have an advanced topographic report based on the very latest technology with laser scanning of the terrain. You get exact height curves, in this case with 2.5 meter equidistance, but you also get the opportunity to use shadow effects to create a 3D feeling of the terrain's shapes as a complement to the traditional height curves. With this technique, it becomes very easy to assess in advance the characteristics of a harbor and to determine where the best locations are, or where the islands are flat and the risk of wind is greater.
The helicopter images and markings give you a quick overview of each port, with its atmosphere, facilities, sealing guide, dangers and mooring possibilities. Stones and grounds to think about in particular are marked on the pictures. The text in Hamnguiden 9 is divided into a general and a maritime part. The general section describes the location
history, nature and tips on various activities available in the harbour. The maritime section provides information on where it is calm and safe to lie down, how to transport safely and what you should pay special attention to.
